8. Padosan (1968)
There’s no way I could skip Padosan. Kishore Kumar and Mehmood carry this movie like champs.
Yes, the humor’s a bit dated, and some of it might not age well in today’s lens, but it still has some of the funniest scenes ever shot in Indian cinema. The fake singing scene? Comedy gold. The kind of thing you randomly think about and smile.
9. Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007)
Now, I know this is more of a psychological thriller, but come on—Akshay Kumar was hilarious in this. His character brought a certain lightness to an otherwise eerie story.

10. 3 Idiots (2009)
This might be a bit of a cheat, but it’s too good not to include. The jokes in 3 Idiots are natural, relatable, and sometimes painfully funny. Like the “balatkar” speech scene—I still can’t sit through that without giggling.
But the reason I included this in a list of the best Hindi comedy movies is because of how real it feels. It doesn’t try to be a comedy, but life is funny, especially in college. This one gets that.
